Carmel Swim Club finishes strong at Senior State Meet

The Carmel Swim Club finished up the Indiana Swimming Senior State Meet in a familiar position: On top.
Carmel picked up four event victories on its way to the overall team title at the meet, which concluded Sunday at Pike High School. The Carmel club scored 2,025.5 points, well ahead of runner-up Boilermaker Aquatics’ 1,468 points. The Fishers Area Swimming Tigers were a solid third place with 1,330 points.
Carmel’s four event wins began in the women’s 200 freestyle relay, which Devon Kitchel, Grace Dougherty, Maggie Love and Meghan Christman) won in a time of 1 minute, 57.28 seconds. Kitchel won two more events, first picking up an individual win by pacing the 200 individual medley in 2:19.04.
Later, Kitchel teamed with MacKenna Lieske, Vivian Wilson and Meghan Christman for a victory in the 400 free relay (3:54.80). In the men’s 800 freestyle, Gregg Enoch won that event for Carmel, finishing in 8:27.18. FAST’s Aaron Frollo placed second in 8:27.42.
