Carmel Redevelopment Director Henry Mestetsky was honored by the Jewish Federation of Greater Indianapolis after he was chosen to be part of the Federation’s first 36 Under 36 List. Honorees include outstanding Jewish young adults who make a difference in their professional work, volunteering and involvement in the community.

The impressive list of leaders is packed with 20- and 30-somethings making meaningful contributions through their work, in their free time, in the Jewish community, and beyond. They are talented, giving, and changing our community for good. The roster is replete with leaders, innovators, volunteers, and more. They work everywhere from classrooms to courtrooms, clinics to congregations.

Mestetsky has been Executive Director of the Carmel Redevelopment Commission since November 2017. Prior to that, he was a real estate and economic development attorney for Dentons Bingham Greenebaum. Born in the Ukraine, Mestetsky and his family moved to Indiana in 1994.

“This is a well-deserved honor for Henry whose hard work and dedication to our redevelopment efforts has made our community a better place to live, work and play for residents of all ages,” Carmel Mayor Jim Brainard said. “Thanks in large part to his leadership and creativity, Carmel has been able to attract millions of dollars in private investment, which has helped us continue to maintain our vibrant local economy.”

In recognizing these leaders, the Federation is joining several Jewish Federations across the country who annually celebrate Jewish leaders in their community. The inaugural class will be featured in the Jewish Federation News magazine in a special section later this year.
