Carmel Professional Firefighters Local 4444 endorses Jim Brainard

The Carmel Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 4444 is proud to endorse Jim Brainard as Mayor of Carmel.

Brainard

“The firefighters of Carmel are excited to support our mayor Jim Brainard in his reelection campaign,” said JC Mitchell, president of the Carmel Professional Firefighters Union. “Mayor Brainard has proven in each term he has served this city that he supports the fire service. With the leadership and guidance of Mayor Brainard we have continued to fully staff our fire department with four firefighters on a truck, to meet the levels of the national standard and exceed the levels that many in the area are capable to provide.”

Providing further information into the importance of staffing, Mitchell explained, “With fully-staffed fire trucks we can do our job more efficiently, which saves time, and time is limited when it involves saving lives and property. The more efficient we are, the better the odds of the desired outcome. Our Mayor Jim Brainard has championed that cause since his first day in office.”

Local 4444 has also announced its slate of candidates it has endorsed for other city offices for the May 7 Primary Election. They are:

  • Ron Carter – City Council At-Large
  • Kevin “Woody” Rider – City Council At-Large
  • Jeff Worrell – City Council At-Large
  • Bruce Kimball – City Council Central District (District 1)
  • Sue Finkam – City Council Northeast District (District 2)
  • Adam Aasen – City Council Southeast District (District 3)
  • Laura Campbell – City Council North District (District 4)
  • Tony Green – City Council Southwest District (District 5)
  • Debra Minott – City Council West District (District 6)

“Carmel Firefighters are committed to keeping the citizens of Carmel safe, and we need elected officials who share that same commitment, and these candidates do,” said Mitchell. “We look forward to the opportunity to work with each of them in the future.”
