Carmel PorchFest and Late Night on Main return to the Carmel Arts & Design District this weekend for a jam-packed, live-music experience that is free and open to the public. Streets will be closed for both events and there will be plenty of food and drink for purchase.
The weekend kicks off Friday night with Late Night on Main featuring three bands playing on a stage across Main Street from 7:30 p.m. to midnight. On Sunday, PorchFest will take over several city blocks north of Main Street from noon to 6 p.m. and feature 54 bands playing for six hours on 18 porches spread across the neighborhoods.

Late Night on Main kicks off on Friday at 7:30 p.m. with the School of Rock Band playing from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. The Brothers Footman perform at 9 p.m., with LFTK going on from 10:45 p.m. to midnight. Vendors open at 7 p.m. and guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
Carmel PorchFest will feature 54 musical acts performing live on 18 beautiful neighborhood porches on the streets just north of Main Street and east of the Monon Greenway in the Arts & Design District. The musicians represent a wide variety of musical genres including rock, pop, jazz, blues and country. Each act will perform a 45-minute set.
Two new musical acts to check out include:
- Tay Bronson & The Tackle Box – This country band hails from Indianapolis and just released an album, Drinks and Memories, on Aug. 21.
- The Indigos – The Indigos is an Indi groove rock band from Muncie. With an ensemble of eight members, including keyboard, multiple vocalists and a full horn section.
Attendees can bring lawn chairs to sit in front of chosen porches and/or travel from porch to porch to experience the event. Local streets will be closed to traffic starting at 8 a.m. on Sunday.
Food and beverage vendors on-site include Wick’s Pies, Market District, Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria and Tropical Sno Cone. Adult beverage vendors for those 21 and over include Bier Brewery, Peace Water Winery and Sugar Creek Winery. Additional beverage option vendors include Anna & Asa’s Lemonade stand and Java House.
