On Dec. 10, the Carmel Police Department (CPD) presented this year’s No-Shave November campaign donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Chief Jim Barlow relaxed the department’s grooming standards regarding facial hair for employees that made monetary donations. A total of 85 CPD officers and employees participated in the campaign this year. Contributions were also made by Integrity Automotive, family members and friends of CPD employees, and other members of the community. The campaign concluded with The Great Shave Off event at Main Street Barber Shop.
CPD has participated in No-Shave November for four years. This was the third year that funds from the campaign were donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. A total of $4,842.94 was raised during this year’s campaign, increasing the amount that has been donated over the past three years to $20,038.94.
CPD would like to thank Integrity Automotive and Main Street Barber Shop for their partnership with the campaign, as well as everyone who made donations.
