Carmel came up against a powerhouse from St. Louis on Friday, welcoming Christian Brothers College to Carmel Stadium.
The Cadets, the two-time Class 6 Missouri state champions, defeated the Greyhounds 55-28. Carmel got on the board first, with Eyol Belete taking a 46-yard pass from Anthony Coellner in for a touchdown.

But Christian Brothers scored 27 unanswered points after that to take control of the game. Carmel did put up a touchdown in each period: Christian Peterson scored on a short run in the second quarter, with Ozzy Pollard making a one-yard rush in the third period. Coellner took the ball in from 38 yards during the fourth quarter for another touchdown.
Coellner finished with 61 yards rushing. Josh Placzek made all four extra-point kicks.
The Greyhounds are 1-1 and host Detroit Martin Luther King next Friday.
