Carmel opens roundabouts 149 & 150

Two new roundabouts opened in Carmel this week. Roundabouts No. 149 and No. 150, in the Courtyards of Carmel community, opened at the intersection of Matt Street and Millgate Drive as well as Grisham Drive and Twain Drive. “These intersections were targeted during the planning of the new development to provide neighborhood traffic-calming and reduce the need for stop-controlled portions of the intersection,” City Engineer Jeremy Kashman said. “Normal vehicular traffic will drive around the center truck apron just as a normal roundabout. Larger vehicles will be able to traverse over the center truck apron.”
