Hameed is currently a student at Chapman University, majoring in TV Writing & Producing (MFA). He attended Carmel High School.

Through the program, has begun interning remotely this spring, at Prodigal Entertainment. Based in Los Angles, Prodigal tells stories across television, film, comics, audio, and theatre, and has a first look deal for TV and film with Warner Media and J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions.

“Given the history of both the Emmy Awards and this internship program, I’m honored to have been chosen,” Hameed said. “I want to make the most of this chance to learn and grow. Hopefully one day, they’ll be voting for shows that I’ve contributed to.”

Typically, the Television Academy Foundation’s Internship Program provided paid internships, at top Hollywood studios and production companies, to college students nationwide. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Television Academy Foundation has had to re-imagine its internship program offering students selected from across the country offering the chance to intern remotely. The program has continued to evolve in spring 2022, with a mix of in-person and remote roles.

The Internship Program also includes virtual professional development panel discussions with leaders in the television industry and customized seminars covering personal brand building and navigating the job market ahead. Interns become life-long members of the Foundation’s alumni family giving them access to events and networking opportunities as they build their careers in the industry.

Established in 1980, the Foundation’s Internship Program has been instrumental in launching the careers of prominent writers, producers, directors, executives, and Emmy nominees and winners. Notable Foundation alumni include: The Orville executive producer Brannon Braga, Space Force producer Jennifer Celotta, POV Entertainment President Layne Eskridge, Grey’s Anatomy consulting producer Elisabeth Finch, The Sandman series executive producer David S. Goyer, Maya and the Three creator and executive producer Jorge R. Gutierrez, America’s Got Talent associate director Carrie Havel, The Boys creator Eric Kripke, and Judas and the Black Messiah executive producer Sev Ohanian.
