Summer at Midtown Plaza is about to get even better in 2023. The City of Carmel and Allied Solutions will double the opportunities to watch weekly movies on the Big Screen, while the weekly outdoor music offering will change from lunch time to dinner time. In addition, a new Midtown Block Party is being planned for May 13.

All the exciting changes will go into effect in May, perfect timing for the community to gather at the Plaza on warm summer days and nights.

“Midtown Plaza was designed to be a public space where people from all over can gather and get to know each other,” said Nancy Heck, Director of Community Relations and Economic Development. “Scheduling these special events and regular weekly events give everyone a reason to venture out of their homes and enjoy the beauty of Midtown and the Monon Boulevard.”

Here are the details of the event changes.

Movies at Midtown

Grab your lawn chairs and blankets and get ready for movies on the Big Screen. This year, the showings have been moved to noon and 6 p.m. Tuesdays and 6 p.m. on Thursdays from May 2 through Oct. 31.

Movies will be announced on Facebook, Instagram and in the Friday City of Carmel e-newsletter. Click here to sign up for the city’s e-newsletter.

Midtown Music Mondays

Ready for dinner and some music? Come to Midtown and carry out some fine flavors from the growing number of Midtown restaurants. Then relax on the community chairs, benches, swings, and green spaces while taking in live music on the Main Stage. Music Mondays will be from 5 to 7 p.m. from May 1 to Oct. 30.

Midtown Block Party

Come out for a special movie, DJ entertainment, glitter tattoos, balloon art, a strolling magician, giveaways and more from 2 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 13.

As you enjoy the many activities, be sure to visit Fork & Ale House, Garden Table, Java House, Kernels Gourmet Popcorn, Social Cantina, Sun King Distillery or Wine & Rind for refreshing drinks, snacks, and meals. Grab a seat on the patio and enjoy the festivities or get carryout and eat at the plaza.
