Carmel Mayor’s Housing Task Force to hold public input meeting on July 25

The Carmel Mayor’s Housing Task Force will hold a public meeting from 7:30 to 9 a.m. on Thursday, July 25, exclusively for resident input. The meeting will be held in the Council Chambers on the second floor of Carmel City Hall, 1 Civic Square.

The task force is nearing the end of its fact-finding phase, which has occurred over the past five months during public meetings. So far, the task force has received and reviewed relevant reports, studies and data presented by subject matter experts who have shared their expertise and insights. Although each meeting has included time for public input, the upcoming July meeting will be dedicated to hearing residents’ feedback on the housing issues facing the Carmel community.

“We believe the input from our residents is an important part of this process,” Task Force Chair Christine Zoccola said. “Community feedback is incredibly valuable, and this feedback will ultimately help shape the recommendations made to Mayor Finkam. We look forward to the July 25 meeting and hope to hear from many of our Carmel residents.”

An agenda outlining the issues and topics for discussion will be available for review and comment before the July 25 meeting. The task force maintains a website where videos and presentation materials from previous meetings can be viewed. Additionally, study materials, public correspondence, and supporting information are available for review on the Housing Task Force website, as well.
