Sue Finkam, candidate for Carmel mayor, announced Thursday that Carmel residents Laura Campbell and Craig Dunn have agreed to serve as campaign co-chairs.
“These individuals have a proven record of serving Hoosiers,” Finkam said. “I am excited to have access to their knowledge and experience throughout my campaign as we work to elevate Carmel and bring more transparency and a community-driven vision to City Hall.”
Campbell says she’s ready to get to work on the Finkam team.
“Sue Finkam has strong credentials to lead Carmel into the city’s next chapter and I am excited to join her team,” Campbell said. “Sue’s commitment to our city and her determination and vision to continue to build on Carmel’s successes and making Carmel the best place to live, work, play and retire sets her apart in this field.”
Dunn says Finkam is the most qualified person to lead the city.
“Sue’s background in business combined with her experience on city council makes her the most qualified candidate to lead Carmel,” Dunn said. “I’m excited to lend my expertise and counsel to ensuring Sue Finkam is Carmel’s next mayor!”
About Laura Campbell
Laura Campbell has been a leader in Carmel and throughout Hamilton County. She served as the executive director for the Hamilton County Republican Party in the 2000s, prior to her own tenure as chairman of the party from 2016 to 2022.
In addition to her political acumen, Campbell brings years of experience in representing Carmel’s north district on the city council for the last eight years. During her time in office, she has served as council president, vice president, and as the council’s representative on the Carmel Plan Commission.
In addition, she developed the Carmel Advisory Committee on Disability. Her political and civic experiences will be a major asset to the campaign.
About Craig Dunn
Craig Dunn has a long history of political advocacy, dating back to the 1970s when he was the first 18-year-old elected to serve as a delegate to the Indiana GOP convention. Since then, he has worked for several campaigns ranging from Congress to governor and has served three terms as chairman of the Howard County Republican Party.
In addition to his political involvement, he has a solid track record of civic involvement. He has served as the alumni board president for Ball State University’s College of Business, was a founder of Habitat for Humanity in Kokomo, and is a past member of the Howard County Development board. The campaign will benefit greatly from the perspectives he brings to the team.
