Sue Finkam, business executive and candidate for Carmel Mayor, announced on Friday the hiring of key positions on her campaign.
“I’m really proud of this diverse and experienced team we’ve begun assembling,” Finkam said. “They are agile, smart and scrappy and know what it takes to win, emblematic of the spirit I’d bring to city hall.”
Ascent Strategic partner and Carmel resident Kory Wood will serve as senior advisor.
Ascent Strategic has more than 80 years of experience in running campaigns for every level of office. Ascent Strategic clients have included candidates for President, U.S. Senate, Congress, statewide office, and mayor.
Current and former clients include the Republican National Committee, the Indiana Republican Party, Independent Women’s Voice, State Treasurer Daniel Elliott, State Auditor Tera Klutz, Carmel Mayor Jim Brainard, and Congresswoman Kat Cammack of Florida.
Chris Elmore has been tapped to serve as Campaign Manager.
Elmore has experience in a variety of roles throughout Carmel and the State of Indiana. Being involved in political campaigns since his freshman year of high school, he has worked for the Hamilton County Republican Party as executive director, the Senate Majority Campaign Committee as a field director, and worked for Carmel Mayor Jim Brainard’s 2019 re-election campaign.
In addition to these grassroots roles, Elmore has served as the chairman for the Indiana High School Republicans, which developed chapters throughout the state to mobilize youth activism in local politics and has served as the chairman for the Hamilton County Young Republicans.
Rachel Birenbaum has been hired as Finance Director.
Birenbaum has a wide breadth of experience in politics, working in the offices of the Indiana State Senate, the offices of Senator Todd Young in Washington, D.C., and as a district aide for the U.S. House of Representatives.
In addition, she has worked as a legal assistant with Ice Miller, an administrative coordinator with a local financial firm, and, most recently, as a finance assistant with Daniels Spaulding Consulting LLC.
