Carmel invites you to tree lighting ceremony

Holiday at Carter Green sponsored by Allied Solutions is the City of Carmel’s annual festival and tree lighting ceremony on opening day of the Christkindlmarkt and The Ice at Carter Green.

This year’s event will take place from 3 to 6:45 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23.

Celebrate the grand opening of Carmel’s authentic German holiday market and The Ice at Carter Green with Santa, reindeer and other animals, jugglers, carolers, balloon artists, and more. Children will receive free goodie bags filled with surprises donated by event sponsors while supplies last.

Event timeline

  • 3 p.m.: You won’t want to miss Mayor Sue Finkam arrive at the market with Santa.
  • 3 to 6 p.m.: Santa will greet visitors inside the Spielhaus (playhouse) on the east patio of the market.
  • 6 p.m.: Visit the main stage in the Winter Pavilion for performances and remarks.
  • 6:45 p.m.: Tree lighting countdown and ceremony.

Following the tree lighting, stay tuned for the enchanting Palladiscope show, featuring the Towering Nutcracker and Frost displays. This unique seasonal experience, created by Blockhouse Studios, will illuminate the night sky from nightfall until 10 p.m. Every half hour, watch in wonder as the Nutcracker’s mouth opens, triggering a snowfall effect that will leave you spellbound.
