The future begins with K-12 learners, and now more than ever, teachers deserve recognition.
They continue to educate and inspire young learners while facing a nationwide teacher shortage. Just this past August in Indiana, there were 1,675 open teaching positions, according to the Indiana Department of Education. (There are 36,500 throughout the U.S.)
That’s why WGU Indiana recognized teachers at Carmel High School this week with appreciation kits as part of its Teacher Appreciation Week campaign.
This annual campaign, which delivered appreciation kits to nearly 800 teachers statewide this year, honors teachers who go above and beyond for students. The appreciation kits (which included gifts like eye masks, lip balm, chocolates, and information about WGU Indiana’s Teacher Appreciation Campaign) were delivered for teachers to enjoy during Teacher Appreciation Week, May 8 to 12.
