Carmel golf wins Roncalli Invitational

The Carmel girls golf team continued its winning ways on Saturday by claiming the Roncalli Invitational at Smock Golf Course in Indianapolis,
The top-ranked Greyhounds won with a team score of 302. Ava Hedrick was the meet medalist with a one-under par 71, while Katie Kuc placed fourth with a 75.
“Smock is a true test with small, sloping greens and some tricky holes,” said Carmel coach Kelly Kluesner. “I’m really proud of this team. We started off a bit slow but every player stayed confident in their own game and didn’t give up.”
Third-ranked Westfield was the team runner-up with a score of 316. Allie Hildebrand placed fifth for the Shamrocks with a 76.
Guerin Catholic, ranked No. 20, finished in seventh place as a team with a 349, but had the individual runner-up: Christina Pfefferkorn carded an even par 72.

Westfield sent a junior varsity team to the Western Boone Invitational Saturday at Cool Lake Golf Club, and the Shamrocks won with a score of 315.
Allie McKeown and Mallory Mortl both scored 77s to lead Westfield. Serena Lee added a 79, followed by Sam Lemieux with 82 and Claire Thompson with 86.

Hamilton Southeastern competed in the Mooresville Invitational Saturday at Heartland Crossing.
The tournament was in the best ball format, with two players combining for a score. Amber Luttrell and Yanah Rolston teamed up for a five under par 68. Luttrell scored a one under 72, while Rolston had a 76.
Ashley Marcinko and Marissa Spreitzer combined for a 72, with Marcinko carding a 79 and Spreitzer adding an 83. Grace Dubec and Kaley McHaffie teamed up for a 79, with Dubec scoring 83 and McHaffie 95.
