Carmel golf course breaking ground on new facilities Thursday

Carmel’s city-owned and operated Brookshire Golf Course is building a new clubhouse, pool and pool house. The new building will incorporate a new Pro Shop, Snack Bar and Bar, and multiple meeting rooms. The approximately $10 million project is expected to be completed by mid-December.

Meeting rooms will include The Cool Creek Room, which will hold 175-200 people and is perfect for weddings, graduation parties and corporate events. The room will also have a balcony that will be able to hold up to 40 people for smaller groups or equipment and bands or DJs for larger groups.

A smaller, more formal room, called The Diddle Room, will also be available for groups of up to 20. This room was named after course designer Bill Diddle, who was a prominent Golf Course Architect throughout Indiana and the Midwest.

A groundbreaking ceremony will occur at 6 p.m. on Thursday at 12120 Brookshire Pkwy., Carmel.

All current facilities will also be open during construction.
