Carmel won an all-county girls track and field dual meet at Hamilton Southeastern on Tuesday.
The Greyhounds scored 73 points to the Royals’ 59. Carmel won nine events, with Phoebe Bates pacing the 1600 and 3200 runs and Quina Johnson leading a 1-2-3 sweep in the shot put. Other winners were Madi Tester in the 100 hurdles, Olivia Elkin in the 300 hurdles, Annie Christie in the 800 run, Uredo Agada in the high jump, Leah Roebuck in the discus and the 4×100 relay.
“Great night for the girls,” said Greyhounds coach Aaron McRill. “It was nice to get a win in our first outdoor meet of the season. We saw lots of good things tonight. We’ll keep building on the positive and keep continuing to improve.”
Southeastern event winners were Alyssa Barker in the 100 dash, Mya Hammons in the 400 dash, Olivia Burgess in the 200 dash, Jehnea Mirro in the long jump, Kennedy Drish in the pole vault, and the 4×800 and 4×400 relays.
