The Carmel girls track and field team won a three-team meet with Pike and Ben Davis on Tuesday.
The Greyhounds scored 77.5 points to the Red Devils’ 47 and the Giants’ 42.5. Carmel won seven events, including the 800 run, where Maddie Dalton led a 1-2-3 sweep for the ‘Hounds.
Other winners were Kara Deady in the pole vault, Amiyah James in the high jump, Phoebe Bates in the 1600 run, Abbey Grogan in the 400 dash and the 4×800 and 4×400 relays.
“It was a very chilly night of competition,” said Carmel coach Aaron McRill. “Despite the cold, the girls showed up and competed. We had great contributions across the board and we made some great improvement, especially with our throws girls.”
The Greyhounds will split their squad on Friday, with distance runners competing at the Franklin Central Showcase and the sprinters at the Lafayette Jefferson Sprinters Showcase.
