“Freedom is Never Free” theme of Carmel’s ceremony
The City of Carmel invites and encourages the public to attend the city’s Veterans Day Ceremony at noon on Wednesday, Nov. 10 in the Tarkington Theater at the Center for the Performing Arts, 3 Carter Green, Carmel. This year’s theme is “Freedom is Never Free” – but the event is.
City officials and members of local veterans organizations have worked together to put on this community event in honor of local veterans.
Participants will include Mayor Jim Brainard, former USAF Thunderbird Pilot Major Matt Modleski (Ret.) as keynote speaker, and the Carmel VFW/American Legion Honor Guard, along with performances by the Mohawk Trails Elementary School Choir, Cindy Ensign Baney and the Actors Theatre of Indiana.
The city-wide “Freedom is Never Free” poster and essay contest winners will also be recognized. Winning posters will be displayed and students will read their winning essays at the ceremony.
Health & Safety
Amid ongoing concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic, the Center for the Performing Arts and its Resident Companies have adopted new policies and protocols for the start of the 2021-2022 season. Though subject to change as circumstances evolve, these requirements reflect current government health directives and the growing consensus across the live entertainment industry on how to maintain a safer environment.
