Carmel firefighters handing out free masks at Home Depot today and Saturday’s marathon

The Carmel Fire Department has scheduled two more COVID-19 information booths to hand out information on vaccination, virus prevention and safety, and answer questions from the public. Firefighters will offer free bottles of hand sanitizer and disposable face masks while supplies last. The type of masks being distributed are similar to what you would find in a doctor’s office waiting room.

CFD will be at Home Depot, 9855 N. Michigan Road, Carmel, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 1. The booth will be set up inside the foyer of the south entrance.

CFD will also be at the Carmel Marathon from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 3. The booth will be set up at the Start/Finish line, west of 3rd Avenue SW at City Center Drive, across from the Palladium.

During the event, representatives from CFD will wear masks and keep to physical distancing guidelines to avoid possible spread of the virus. The event is open to the public and visitors should also wear masks and maintain proper distance from others as they approach the booth.

The goal of this booth is to provide the community with COVID-19 information, including handouts showing the City of Carmel and Carmel Fire Department “Best Practices” for dealing with the virus.
