Carmel firefighter laid to rest today

It is with heavy hearts that Carmel Fire Department reports the line-of-duty death of Mark (Robo) Robinson, Robo, 51, who passed away on Monday, June 19, 2017 from a long and brave battle with occupational cancer.

“We could all learn from Robo, not only in the way he dedicated his life to service in public safety and in coaching, but also in the love he showed as a husband, father, brother, son and in his faith,” a Carmel Fire Department spokesperson said.

The funeral procession will arrive at Westfield High School Auditorium, 18250 N. Union St. in Westfield at 12:30 p.m. today. Services will begin at 1 p.m. The family will then receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Auditorium following the service. The complete schedule of events is listed below.

  • 11:40 a.m. – Start procession at Randall and Roberts on SR 32 heading west to Union Street / Turn right
  • Noon – Arrive at Westfield High School passing under Garrison Flag
  • 12:30 p.m. – Start public seating
  • 1 p.m. – Start funeral services
  • 2:30 p.m. – End funeral service post guard for viewing reception
  • 8 p.m. – End viewing reception
