The Carmel Fire Department invites the community to honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, with a solemn ceremony of remembrance. The event will take place at the Veterans Memorial Plaza, 768 3rd Ave. SW, Carmel.

The ceremony will begin promptly at 8:46 a.m. on Wednesday, September 11, marking the exact time the first plane struck the North Tower of the World Trade Center. The event is expected to last approximately 20 minutes.

The ceremony will include a moment of silence, the tolling of the fire department bell, and brief remarks from local officials.

All members of the community are encouraged to attend and stand in remembrance and reflection.
