Carmel dropped a close game to Fort Wayne Carroll 55-48 Saturday at the Eric Clark Activity Center.
The Greyhounds led 13-11 after one quarter, but the Chargers came back to hold a 26-22 lead at halftime. Mackenzie Woods kept Carmel close by making two second-quarter 3-pointers. Carmel cut Carroll’s lead to 38-36 by the end of the third period, with Woods scoring another five points. But the Chargers outscored the ‘Hounds 17-12 in the fourth.
Woods finished the game with 16 points, including three 3s. Hannah Lach added 13 points and Izzy Shepherd scored 12. Lach collected eight rebounds while Woods had seven.
Carmel is 0-4 and plays Tuesday at Noblesville.
