The Center for Disease Control, along with the City of Carmel, recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain, such as grocery stores.
For this reason, the Carmel City Council encourages Carmel residents and businesses to take these measures seriously in order to not only protect yourself, but to protect those around you. Many people who are carriers of the virus will not necessarily show symptoms. It is therefore in the interest of those around you to maintain a face covering while in public.
Local businesses are encouraged to post signs expressing “Wearing is Caring” as a way to urge patrons to put on their masks before entering. OneZone, the combined business chambers for Carmel and Fishers, is also supporting the effort and urging its members to post signs.
Carmel residents are also invited to share the sentiment on social media. Council members, working with Raygun Workshop, designed several fun and playful Facebook frames for you to apply to your Facebook profile image.
On your Facebook profile simply click “Edit Photo” then select “Add a Frame.” In the search bar type “Wearing is Caring” and several options will appear from which you can choose. You may adjust your image to properly fit the frame. In your search, you may also add the name of your favorite state university to find one of our frames branded with your favorite school.
