Carmel Utilities and the Carmel Street Department are partnering with the Hamilton County Household Hazardous Waste Center and Recycle Force to recycle 2024 election campaign signs.
This initiative prevents an abundance of yard signs from going to a local landfill, as they cannot be recycled in regular curbside pickup. Residents opting to return campaign signs to individual candidates are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to recycle.
Now through Wednesday, Nov. 27, Carmel residents can bring their campaign signs and metal stands to the following locations:
- Carmel Household Hazardous Waste Site, 901 N. Range Line Road. Closed Mondays; open Tuesday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to noon.
- Carmel Street Department, 3400 W. 131st St. Open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Hamilton County Household Hazardous Waste Center, 1717 Pleasant St., Ste. 200. Open Tuesday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Signs can be dropped off only during the hours listed above. Please do not leave signs at any site during non-business hours.
