It’s time once again for the Carmel Street Department to work its magic at Carter Green in preparation for the opening of the Christkindlmarkt and The Ice at Carter Green on Nov. 19.

This year, Operations Manager Crystal Edmondson was thrilled to receive a generous donation from Gene and Melissa Skalicky in the form of the Christmas tree for Carter Green.

“We are HUGE Christkindlmarkt fans and proud German Americans,” Melissa Skalicky said. “We were very active with Sister Cities and Germanfest for more than 30 years when we lived in Fort Wayne. We moved to Hamilton County three and a half years ago and  went to the market every night after work. When we bought our home, we knew the tree would need to come down . . . it was a no-brainer and our sincerest hope to donate it to the market.”
