Carmel comes together for Martin Luther King Jr. Day

On Monday, Carmel Mayor Jim Brainard, Dee Thornton of the Mayor’s Advisory Commission on Human Relations, Congresswoman Susan Brooks along with several other elected officials celebrated the life and impact of American Civil Rights Leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

There were performances by KJI Institute for the Arts, St. Peters United Church of Christ Choir and Blair Clark, and Indiana African American Authors and representatives from the United Negro College Fund were on hand to honor Dr. King Jr.’s legacy and achievements.
