To celebrate the Eclipse Across America taking place on Monday, Aug. 21, the Carmel Clay Public Library is hosting an Eclipse Extravaganza beginning at noon on Aug. 12. Attendees will enjoy food, music, face painting, solar eclipse games and crafts.
This fun, family event will feature daytime telescope viewing of the sun with H-Alpha telescopes provided by the Link Observatory Space Science Institute, as well as educational materials for safe eclipse viewing practices.
“We are thrilled to partner again with the Link Observatory Space Science Institute for yet another out of this world event,” said Colleen Card for Carmel Clay Public Library. “This will be a fascinating afternoon for all ages.”
The library will have free eclipse viewing glasses for attendees. The Carmel High School Tech Hounds will show off their robotic skills and promote Women in STEM. Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation will be present as well.
The event will be held on the North Lawn of the Carmel Clay Public Library at 55 4th Ave. SE, Carmel, weather permitting. In case of inclement weather, the event will move indoors. No registration is required. For more information, call the Reference Desk at (317) 844-3362.
