Barrier-Free Theater is a form of drama therapy that empowers individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities to create and perform original stories together. The entire creative process takes around eight months to complete.

“We started brainstorming topics months ago,” said CCPR Barrier-Free Theater Director Sarah Fenster. “The cast members played with different topics, characters, and scenes that resonated with them – many relating to the pandemic. The final performance will be a product of the many hours they spent collaborating, rehearsing, and memorizing.”

World Gone Rocked recaps the emotions and shared experiences many people have endured over the past two years. The production explores ways people cope and rely on one another to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

“The hope is that our community can learn more about the actors, hear their true voices, and walk away with a new understanding of their experiences,” Fenster said. “They’ve put a lot of pride and joy into this show. I’m sure the final performances will be sure to surprise and impress.”

Pre-registration is required to attend the show. Tickets are $10 each and are available for purchase online now through March 10. Attendees will be seated with their own party, physically distanced from other parties within the auditorium. Masks are optional.
