Carmel Clay Parks & Rec cancels programs, events

Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation has announced due to the closure of Carmel Clay Schools and an abundance of caution, the cancellation and postponed programming and events through April 10.

Extended School Enrichment

Due to Carmel Clay Schools’ closure, and based on guidelines provided by the Indiana Governor, Extended School Enrichment before- and after-school programming is canceled at all 11 Carmel Clay elementary schools from March 16 through April 10. CCPR will reassess at that time for continuation. All parents/guardians of ESE students have been contacted.

For those enrolled in “School’s Out” spring break camp (April 3, April 6-10) CCPR will be in contact in the coming days about possible cancellation.

Recreation Programming and Events

The following programming and events have been canceled – all cancellations will be reassessed around April 10 regarding continuation:

  • Recreation programming
  • Aquatic programming and swim lessons
  • Volunteer events
  • Senior programming, including SilverSneakers® group fitness classes and Tai Chi

The following events have been canceled due to projected attendance of 250+ individuals:

  • Hamilton County Homeschool Hoopla
  • 2020 Summer Hiring Event
  • Barrier-Free Theatre performance, A Hero’s Heart, has been postponed to a date TBD.
