The City of Carmel recently honored and thanked Councilor Ron Carter for his 24 years of service to the city.

Carter was the catalyst for the creation of the Carmel Farmers Market, a strong proponent of biking in Carmel, and he helped pave the way for the Monon Greenway and the city’s vast system of trails and paths. He was a founding member of the Monon Greenway Committee and the Hamilton County Alternative Transportation Taskforce. In addition to his City Council service, Carter served on the Carmel Redevelopment Commission during its early years, creating world class venues such as the Palladium at The Center for the Performing Arts.

His dedication, leadership and support helped transform Carmel into the walkable, bike-able vibrant city you see today.
