Democratic Carmel City Council, At-Large Candidate Sara Draper continues to pick up steam as the municipal election draws close.
“I’ve garnered support from some unlikely places that traditionally have only supported Republican candidates,” Draper said, “but there’s no mistaking the excitement coming from the blue side of Carmel, most of which has never had a Democrat on their ballot at the local level before.”
Draper’s fundraiser will feature three generations of strong female leadership representing the past, present, and future of Indiana’s Democratic party. Former Indiana First Lady Judy O’Bannon is slated to speak, along with former candidate for Secretary of State, Destiny Wells, who won Carmel in November 2022.
“Many will be in attendance,” Wells said, “but all who wish to end the Republican supermajority and bring balance to the City Council are welcome.”
