Carmel celebrating artists with disabilities

Beginning in March, the Carmel Arts Council, in collaboration with the Carmel Advisory Committee for Disability (CACD), invites submissions for a virtual exhibition of artwork by Carmel artists with disabilities. This exhibit will be published on the Carmel Arts Council website and social media during the month of March and celebrates National Disability Awareness Month 2021.

Who can participate?

Artists of all ages and disabilities residing in Carmel.

What kind of artwork can be submitted?

All art media are welcome including three-dimensional and hand crafts. Since the exhibit is virtual, the original artwork can be large or small, framed or unframed.

Exhibited artwork should be suitable for a family audience and not be overtly political or overtly religious.

How do I submit my artwork?

Please submit a good quality photo of your artwork by Thursday, Feb. 25. A smartphone photo is sufficient. “Good quality” means in-focus, high resolution, minimal glare, well-lit, and avoiding excessive shadows.

Photos can be submitted by email to CACD member Wendy Kiefel at wkiefel@gmail.com. If you are submitting using a smartphone, please ensure the photo file is actual size/full size so that it will not be grainy when viewed on a larger computer screen.

Besides a photo of my artwork, what else should be in the submission?

Children will have only their first name published. The artist’s grade level is optional. Please indicate if the artist is a child under 18 years of age in the submission.
