Carmel cancels Public Safety Day

After careful consultation with state health officials and review of current COVID data, the Carmel Police and Fire departments have decided to cancel the 2021 Carmel Public Safety Day, which had been scheduled for Sept. 18.

With the number of positive cases and hospitalizations on the rise in Central Indiana, and because this event attracts many young people who are not yet eligible to be vaccinated – CPD and CFD officials say they believe it is in the best interest of public health to not go forward with the event this year. Event organizers say they look forward to having the event at full capacity next year.
