Carmel boys tennis wins 11th straight regional

The Carmel boys tennis team won the Kokomo regional on Wednesday, beating No. 18 West Lafayette 5-0.
The victory is the 11th regional championship in a row for the No. 1-ranked Greyhounds, and their 18th overall. Carmel’s No. 1 singles player Broc Fletcher won his match in three and a half hours, 7-5 in the third set.
The Greyhounds will next play in the La Porte semi-state on Saturday, taking on Bremen for the championship at noon.
BUSHONG ADVANCES AT SECTIONAL
Noblesville’s Noah Bushong continued his run at the individual singles sectional on Wednesday at North Central’s Barbara Wynne Tennis Center.
Bushong beat Eastern Hancock’s Kodey Huff 6-0, 6-1 to advance to today’s championship match. He will take on Lawrence North’s Kyle Manner at 4:30 p.m.
The Hamilton Southeastern doubles team of Andrew Spirrison and Paul Schneider will also play for a sectional championship today. The Royals duo will play Cathedral’s Sam Black and Alex Pohl, also at 4:30 p.m.
