Hamilton County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is holding its annual rain barrel sale. Rain barrels are a great way to conserve water and reduce your water bill, and SWCD is offering high-quality barrels at a discounted price.

Each rain barrel holds 55 gallons of water, which can be used for gardening, lawn care, and even washing your car. By collecting rainwater, you can reduce your dependence on municipal water supplies. Not only are rain barrels good for the environment, but they can also save you money. By using collected rainwater for your outdoor water needs, you can reduce your water bill and save up to 1,300 gallons of water during the growing season.

SWCD’s rain barrel sale is a great opportunity to get a high-quality rain barrel at a discounted price. Each barrel comes with a mosquito-proof screen and a spigot for easy watering. The upcycled barrels are made from food-grade plastic and come in black or grey. Accessories including diverters for easy installation, stands, and hoses to connect multiple barrels for extra water storage are also available.

To order a rain barrel, visit HamiltonSWCD.org/rainbarrels. The cost is $85 per barrel, and preorders must be placed by Thursday, April 27. Barrels can be picked up in Noblesville on Tuesday, May 9. Additional barrels and supplies will be available on a first-come, first-served basis after that date.

Note: Carmel residents are eligible for a $50 to $75 rebate from the City Stormwater Program after installing a rain barrel. Information on this program is available at this link.
