Buy a brick, help Sheridan

Many residents of Sheridan are aware that there is an effort underway to construct community entryway signs for Sheridan. One sign will be located on State Road 38 on the east side of town near the First Farmers Bank and Trust branch office; the second sign will be along State Road 47 at the west edge of town. Both signs will announce to visitors that the community they are about to encounter is called Sheridan.

DelGreco

Gloria DelGreco of the Purdue Extension Service office in Noblesville has been active in the Sheridan community with her Sheridan Coalition Committee, which, among other projects, is seeking funding for these two signs by selling engraved bricks. Bricks will cost $125 for individuals and $250 for businesses or organizations, and you can double that if you want a brick on both signs.

The money raised by the sale of the bricks will be used to offset the cost of the signs. A total of about $20,000 needs to be raised to pay for the two signs, and while brick sale money is important, a portion of the materials and labor needed will also come from grants and other donations.

The Coalition hopes to have the signs completed by year’s end.

The window of opportunity for purchasing an engraved brick is rapidly closing, with a deadline of June 28. If you have considered purchasing a brick for your family, business, organization, or a loved one, the time to do it is now. Bricks can be purchased at the Town Hall during regular business hours.
