Business owner will “Look to Cook to put the Trust back in Trustee”

Dear Editor,

Duncan

Two years ago, a situation arose for a portion of Jackson Township. Unfortunately, unless you were directly affected, you may not know exactly what took place. You may not have attended the meetings, as many of us did. You may not realize that an illegal, closed door meeting, resulted in the dissolution of the Jackson Township Fire Territory. Many believe no wrongdoings were found since there was nothing more than a slap on the wrist. However, I think we are all intelligent enough to know that guilt doesn’t always lead to prosecution.

The safety of our children, seniors and other members of our community, is not drama. We did not make this up. If you’ve not already done so, I encourage you to go back and read the articles, check the posts and watch the news clips. Ask your friends that were there, what they experienced.

Sometimes, it can be difficult to bring to light transparency issues that you know may cause conflict or backlash. Robyn Cook has proven her courage and integrity by taking that difficult road to bring honest information to our towns, rather than allowing a situation of safety and financial concern to remain unknown. We thank her for stepping forward and sharing her insight.

Robyn has been a Clerk-Treasurer for 18 years and is now willing to serve as our new Trustee. It will provide her the platform to build unity among our towns, by mending broken relationships and strengthening others. She will be responsible, respectful and kind-hearted to all those needing Trustee services. She will save thousands of taxpayer dollars by reducing the number of Trustee duties currently being outsourced. Above all, Robyn will work diligently to support our paramedics, EMTs and firefighters to ensure our safety.

If you support unity, transparency, fiscal responsibility and safety, I hope you will join my family and me as we vote for Robyn Cook, Jackson Township Trustee.

We were there. We were lied to. We remember! Although we were powerless at the time, this election is our chance to “Look to Cook to put the Trust back in Trustee!”

Respectfully,

Mike Duncan
