Burlen “Bert” Turner

March 15, 1934 – September 3, 2024

Burlen “Bert” Turner, 90, Noblesville, went to be with his Lord and Savior, on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Riverview Health in Noblesville. He was born on March 15, 1934, the last of 11 children to William “Bill” and Eva (Davis) Turner in Lee County, Va.

Bert was a coal miner in Lee County before moving to Indiana. He worked for Martin Marietta Aggregates for over 30 years, retiring as plant operator. Bert married Betty Harber and they shared a special, never-ending love, sharing a kiss before bed at the end of each day’s light. Bert was strong in his faith as a believer and was a member of Pentecostal Lighthouse Church in Noblesville. He loved going to church and walking in the light of the Lord. Bert loved hunting and gardening with his son. Most of all, he was especially loving to his grandkids and them to him.

He is survived by the love of his life of 65 years, Betty Turner; daughters, Cookie (Ronnie) Tiller and Kandy (Danny) Scott; son, Ted (Cindy) Turner; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Velma Turner; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bert was preceded in death by his son, Mike Turner; grandson, Joshua Turner; and great-grandson, Daylon Scott.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, September 6, 2024, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan St., Noblesville. An additional visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m., with funeral services at 1 p.m., on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Pentecostal Lighthouse Church, 1765 Hannibal St., Noblesville. Pastor Danny Scott will officiate. Burial will be at Cicero Cemetery in Cicero.
