Brooke’s Place for Grieving Young People has received a $40,000 grant from BESTOW Corp., a charitable organization of men dedicated to supporting innovative nonprofit initiatives that create lasting change in central Indiana.
The grant will fuel Brooke’s Place’s critical expansion of ongoing grief support services to the southside of Indianapolis, with the new location projected to open in 2026.

“This grant represents more than funding – it’s the opportunity for young people and their caregivers to grieve in a supportive, understanding, and nurturing environment,” Brooke’s Place Executive Director Theresa Brun and. “We are excited to extend our reach and ensure that no child in Central Indiana has to navigate grief alone.”
The need is urgent. Approximately one in 10 Indiana children will experience the death of a sibling or parent by age 18 – impacting over 154,000 young lives. Without proper support, these children face heightened risks of anxiety, depression, poor academic performance, and social isolation. Brooke’s Place bridges this critical gap by providing holistic, compassionate grief support that teaches healthy coping skills and empathy and normalizes grief for children, teens, young adults, and their caregivers.
