Sheridan has a new softball coach.
Brittany Gossard has taken over for the Blackhawks program, one that will enter the 2022 season as a defending sectional champion. Gossard and her husband Garrett Gossard, who will be the assistant coach, attended Thursday’s Sheridan girls basketball game and took a moment to speak with the Reporter.
“I’m really excited,” said Brittany Gossard. “The girls have been great so far. I’m really looking forward to working with them and continuing the program from the high school all the way down to the rec league.”
Gossard comes from Hamilton Heights, where she was the head junior varsity coach for a couple of years, and also helped out with the varsity and travel teams there.
“I hope to instill that being successful is not all about winning,” said Gossard, although she would love to compound that lesson with a repeat of what Sheridan did last year.
“We have a lot of returners from last year,” said Gossard.
