The Fishers boys tennis team lost to host North Central 5-0 in the regional championship Thursday at the Barbara Wynne Tennis Center.
Four of the five matches were decided in straight sets. The Tigers’ No. 2 doubles team of Sam Barrett and Owen McEldowney stretch its opponent to three sets before falling, 1-6, 6-4, 6-3.
“I thought we played pretty well for the most part,” said Fishers coach Dave Heffern. “North Central’s got a really nice team.”
The Tigers finished their season 12-4 and won Hoosier Crossroads Conference and sectional titles.
“We won our conference, which was our major goal and we won the sectional, which was our second goal,” said Heffern. It was the first time Fishers had ever won the conference and the second consecutive time it had won the sectional.
“Five seniors, I’m really proud of the kids, the way they conducted themselves all year long,” said Heffern.
