Boys tennis: Royals beat Avon, Millers sweep Franklin Central

The Hamilton Southeastern boys tennis team beat No. 25 Avon 4-1 on Thursday for a Hoosier Crossroads Conference victory.

No. 1 Alex Piercy and No. 2 Brady Stump both singles victories. The No. 16 Royals swept the doubles, with wins from No. 1 Tyler Rich and Landon Osswald, and No. 2 Ian Ransom and Logan Foust.

“Everyone played well and we are starting to peak at the right time,” said Southeastern coach Doug Gernert.

The Royals host No. 3-ranked Center Grove on Saturday.

No. 20-ranked Noblesville swept Franklin Central 5-0 for an HCC victory on Thursday.

The Millers won all five matches in straight sets, including a 6-0, 6-0 win from No. 1 doubles Jack Brenneman and Dane Campbell. Singles winners were No. 1 Ethan Feliciano, No. 2 Zane Panning and No. 3 Max Habel. No. 2 doubles Parker Stallings and Dustin Turpin also picked up a victory.

Noblesville plays another HCC match Monday at Fishers.
