Boys tennis: Huskies win again, No. 1 Carmel tops No. 2 NC

The Hamilton Heights boys tennis team improved to 6-2 by beating Northwestern 4-1 on Thursday.
The Hochstedler brothers won both of their matches 6-0, 6-0, with Hawkins at No. 1 singles and Hudson at No. 2 singles. No. 3 singles Adam Gross and the No. 1 doubles team of Zane Remsen and Nick Rice were also straight-set winners.
“I was real pleased with the energy our guys brought tonight at the end of a busy week,” said Heights coach Cameron Scott. “Across the board, we played hard right from the start, which we knew was going to be key. A special shout out goes to Zane Remsen and Nick Rice who continue to play better and better each match.”
The junior varsity team picked up a 3-0 win for its first victory of the season.  Individual wins came from JP Etchison, Ethan Hall, and the doubles team of Liam Huss and Drew Pennington.

In a showdown between the top two teams in the state, No. 1 Carmel defeated No. 2 North Central 4-1 at the Todd Witsken Tennis Center.
The Greyhounds won all three singles matches in straight sets. No. 1 Patrick Fletchall was victorious 6-1, 6-0, No. 2 Presley Thieneman was a 6-1, 6-2 winner and No. 3 Nashanth Basavereddy won 6-4, -3. Drew Michael and Timmy Dixon came from behind to win the No. 1 doubles match 4-6, 7-6 (3), 6-1.
