Boys soccer: Millers & Tigers each get win at NHS Showcase, Sheridan shuts out Delphi

The Noblesville boys soccer team hosted its NHS Showcase last weekend.

The Millers played Louisville St. Xavier on Friday and the game finished in a 1-1 tie. Each team scored in the second half; Caden Rice put in Noblesville’s goal on a penalty kick. Alex Eberhart made eight goalkeeper saves.

In their Saturday contest, the Millers beat Okemos (Mich.) 1-0. Noblesville scored in the first half; Jose Rodriguez found the back of the net with Vince Cash and Vinny Howard providing the assist.

The Millers are 2-0-2 and play their first Hoosier Crossroads Conference game of the year Tuesday at Avon. Noblesville hosts Brebeuf Jesuit on Thursday.

Fishers played two games at the Noblesville Showcase last weekend.

On Friday, the Tigers beat Detroit Catholic Central 2-1. Fishers scored both of its goals in the second half after trailing 1-0 at halftime. Nate Bolles and Cole Anderson both put in one goal, while Drew Palmer made one assist.

The Tigers dropped their Saturday game to Cincinnati Archbishop Moeller 1-0. Fishers is 2-2 and hosts Zionsville Wednesday in an HCC game, then plays Thursday at Mount Vernon.

Sheridan got a huge win in its home opener last Thursday, beating Delphi 10-0.

Carsen Aleman, Daniel Idrovo and Dayton Kirlin all scored two goals for the Blackhawks, while Jackson Aleman, Roberto Soto, Trace Knight and Evan Krakora all scored one goal.

Sheridan is 1-1 for the season; the Hawks fell to Crawfordsville 3-2 in their season opener last Monday. Sheridan goes on the road this week for two games, playing at Mississinewa Tuesday and at Lapel Wednesday.

Hamilton Southeastern won an all-county game over Guerin Catholic 5-0 last Saturday.

Dominic Sherman, Gavin Boyle, Mathias Arostegui, Cooper Perez and Ameer Abu-Salih all scored one goal each for the Royals. Jack Anderson dished out three assists, with JP Castillo and Jonathan Ramos Perez both making one assist.

Cam Joniec had three saves for Southeastern, with Haruto Ohazama and Riley Bedics both making one save.

The Royals are 2-0-1 for the season. Southeastern plays an HCC game at Brownsburg on Tuesday, then returns home to host Pendleton Heights on Thursday and Franklin Central on Saturday for another conference game.

The Golden Eagles are 2-2 overall. Guerin Catholic won its Circle City Conference opener last Thursday 3-2 over Heritage Christian. Johnny Quinn, Robbie Burt and Gavin Rieck all scored one goal each for the Golden Eagles, with Rieck assisting Quinn and Burt’s goals.

This week, Guerin Catholic plays Tuesday at Center Grove, then hosts Brebeuf Jesuit Saturday afternoon in another conference game.
