Boys soccer: Heights boys split at their Invitational

The Hamilton Heights boys soccer team split a pair of games at its own Husky Invitational on Saturday.
Heights won its first game 4-0 over Tipton. Ethan Aspy scored two goals, with Gerson Martinez and Donovan Trew both getting one. Max Stallsmith, Martinez, Aspy and Lance Jones all made one assist.
“The Devils played extremely well and played with a lot of intensity,” said Huskies coach Derrick Dean. “Player of the game is Lance Jones, he took a beating today but never wavered in his play or attitude.”
The Huskies fell to Class 1A No. 4 Scecina 8-4 in their second game. Heights is now 4-9-1 for the season and hosts Eastern on Tuesday.

OTHER BOYS GAMES
Westfield beat Pendleton Heights 3-2 in a Saturday morning game.
The Shamrocks are 6-5-1 and travel to Brownsburg on Tuesday for a Hoosier Crossroads Conference game.

Noblesville played to a 0-0 tie with Pike Saturday at the Red Devils’ field.
The 3A No. 9 Millers are 7-2-2 and host Franklin Central in an HCC game on Tuesday. It will also be Noblesville’s Senior Night.

Hamilton Southeastern played two games in Fort Wayne on Saturday.
In their first game, the 3A No. 11 Royals played to a 1-1 tie with 3A No. 3 Carroll. The Chargers scored during the 75th minute, but Southeastern quickly answered, as Sam Kay got the tying goal in the net.
The Royals beat 2A No. 4 Concordia Lutheran 2-1 in their second game. Concordia scored in the 28th minute, but Southeastern got the equalizer in the 35th minute after Kam Greenwald scored off a pass from Isa Sayeed. That same duo got the game winner for the Royals in the 75th minute, with Sayeed assisting Greenwald’s second goal.
Southeastern is 8-2-2 and hosts Zionsville on Tuesday in a Hoosier Crossroads Conference game.

Carmel beat Homestead 1-0 in a Friday night away game.
Baenan Mckeown scored the Greyhounds’ goal in the first half, with Max Guidry making the assist.
Carmel is 7-3-2 and hosts Pike Tuesday in a Metropolitan Conference game.

GIRLS GAMES
Westfield cruised past Pike 4-0 on Saturday.
Scoring goals for the Shamrocks were Madison Niehaus, Allison Bullock, Ari Teles and Amiah Sprunger.
Westfield is 7-5 and will host Pendleton Heights on Monday.

Noblesville took care of Brownsburg 5-0 in a Saturday Hoosier Crossroads Conference game.
Five different Millers scored one goal: Isabella Griffey, Makenna Maloy, Jenna Chatterton, Meskerem James and Kylie Roberts. The victory improved Noblesville’s league record to 4-0-1.
The Class 3A No. 4 Millers are 8-0-2 overall and play Monday at Carmel.

Guerin Catholic fell to 3A No. 2 Evansville Memorial 10-1 in a Saturday away game.
The Golden Eagles are 4-4-1 and play their next game Wednesday at Cathedral.
