Boys golf: Noblesville opens season with dual meet win

The Noblesville boys golf team opened its season with a 150-170 win over Pendleton Heights Thursday at Fox Prairie Golf Course.
Junior Clay Merchent led the Millers with a one-under par 35. Senior Jack Barnes followed Merchent with a one-over 37. Juniors Joe Whallon and Chris Scheib each carded a 39 to round out the scoring. Other Noblesville scores were a 41 by junior Jacob Deakyne 41, and a 43 by senior Kyle Claussen.

Hamilton Heights started its season with a tough loss to Western Boone.
The meet finished in a 185-185 tie, with the Stars winning on the fifth-man score. Hawkins Hochstedler and Price Knowles both carded 44s, followed by Hudson Hochstedler’s 48 and Kyle Kirtley’s 49.

Carmel’s junior varsity team won a dual meet with Fishers Thursday by the score of 160-179.
Andrew Harvey was the medalist with a 38. Other Carmel scores were Shoji Fujita 40, Akio Fujita 41, Sam Booth 41, Nick Katsis 41 and Jack Crawford 43.
