Guerin Catholic, the two-time defending boys golf state champion, ran away with the team title at the Spring Preview meet last Saturday at Prairie View Golf Club.
The Golden Eagles finished with a team score of 296, a comfortable eight strokes ahead of runner-up Evansville North’s 304. Hamilton Southeastern was a close third, scoring 305.
Guerin Catholic was led by the Wessel brothers, both of whom completed under par rounds. Eli Wessel scored a two under 70, tying him for medalist honors. Leo Wessel was right behind, carding a one under par 71 for third place. Owen Nielsen was part of a large tie for ninth place, he scored 75.
The Royals’ Nate Benson led his team by placing fifth with 73. Mattingly Upchurch added 76.
Westfield was seventh as a team by scoring 310 but had the individual medalist. Will Harvey scored a two under par 70, also tying him for medalist honors.
Noblesville finished eighth, scoring 313. Drew Werkley was the Millers’ low man with a 76. Carmel tied for 14th with 333. Ethan Hoagland scored an 81 to lead the Greyhounds.

Westfield sent a team to the Harrison Hills Invitational last Saturday, where the Rocks placed third with 315.
Jack Harris tied for fourth individually with a 74. Other Westfield scores were Soren Baker 80, Cohen Steill 80, Cooper Bohn 81, Mitchell Keene 84 and Trey Kremer 90.

Another Westfield team competed at the Bloomington North Invitational last Saturday, scoring a 349.
Michael Bostic tied for sixth individually with 78. Other Shamrocks scores were Jude Kaufman 89, Cash Ballard 91, Jackson Payne 91 and A.J. Cooney 94.

Noblesville sent a second team to the Delta Invitational, which the Millers won with a team score of 299.
Owen Medley led Noblesville with a 72.
