Boys golf: GC takes second place at Muncie Central invite, Westfield wins Rock Hollow invite

Five Hamilton County schools participated in the Muncie Central Invitational last Saturday at The Players Club in Yorktown.

Bloomington South won the team championship with a score of 289. Guerin Catholic was the runner-up with 291. Two Golden Eagles golfers went under par for their rounds: Eli Wessel carded a two under 70 while Leo Wessel finished with a one under 71.

Hamilton Southeastern placed third with 295; Dane Starnes also went under par with his one under 71. Carmel was a strong fourth by scoring 296; Noah Husk joined the under par parade with a one under 71.

Fishers scored 301; Tommy Klinker and Sam Keithley both scored 73s. Noblesville had two teams at The Players Club, with the Millers’ first team scoring 304 and the second team scoring 318. Brady Mangin led Noblesville with a 74, while Drew Werkley and Tyler Marucci both carding 75.

Westfield scored 340; Dylan Hughes led the Shamrocks with an 81.

Westfield played at the Rock Hollow Invitational last Saturday, winning that event with a team score of two under par 286.

Jake Cesare was the meet medalist with a six under par 66, with Will Harvey going two under par for 70 and third place. Ryan Cesare and Brayden Worthington both scored 75s while Hudson Kutchma totaled 83.

Westfield sent a team to Ackerman-Allen Course at Purdue last Saturday for the West Lafayette Invitational.

The Shamrocks scored 317. Cohen Steill led Westfield with 78, followed by Cooper Bohn 79, Clark Schwartz 80, Jack Harris 80 and Mitchell Keene 84.

Hamilton Heights totaled 324. Kole Kirtley was the Huskies’ low man with a 78, followed by Nathan Cox 81, Caleb Sullivan 81, Drew Woodruff and Ethan Millsaps 96.
