Boys & Girls Club of Noblesville to host blood drive, free teen event on President’s Day

The Boys & Girls Club of Noblesville’s Torch Club has teamed up with the Indiana Blood Center to host a community-wide Blood Drive on Monday, Feb. 18. Donation times are between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Boys & Girls Club of Noblesville, 1700 Conner St. Locally, the need for blood is urgent, and this is a great opportunity to give a little time to make a big difference.

“Members are able to see firsthand how a little bit of time and a little bit of blood can change many lives,” says Scott Satterthwaite, Program Director for the Boys & Girls Club of Noblesville. “More importantly, it shows our youth members the importance of generosity and selfless acts of kindness.”

Donors can sign up for a time slot at this link. For more information, please contact BGCN Program Director, Scott Satterthwaite at 317-773-4372 or by email at ssatterthwaite@bgcni.org.

BGCN will also be hosting a free All-Star Basketball contest for teens from 1 to 4 p.m. The free contest is open to boys and girls of all skill levels, ages 13 to 18, who are currently attending Hamilton County schools. The event will take place at the BGCN Community Center.

The event will consist of four contests to include a 3-point contest, a free throw contest, a skills challenge, and All-Star knockout. Each winner of individual events will receive a Wilson Evolution basketball and a Dick’s Sporting Goods gift card.  The overall winner of the event will receive Beats Headphones, a Spotify gift card and an Indiana Pacers jersey.

“The All-Star Basketball Contest gives teens the opportunity to not only have an activity to do on a non-school day, but it showcases what the Boys & Girls Club can provide. Our Club is a place for all youth, and teens aren’t excluded from that,” said Abigail Stutesman, BGCN Unit Director.  “With this event, it is our hope to introduce our Club to new youth and provide a safe, positive activity on President’s Day.”

For more information on the All Star event, please contact Abby at astutesman@bgcni.org. Teens must register online for the event at bit.ly/2DFtDke.
